The human behind the tabs

Hi, I’m Simon.

I like making things, learning how stuff works, and getting a little too invested in hobbies. A very normal amount, obviously.

I’m into code, music, machines, and the kind of games where “just one more jump” can turn into a whole evening.

On the code side, I spend a lot of time with Python, C++, and web tech. I like the feeling of taking an idea that is slightly annoying to do by hand and turning it into a tool. Bonus points if it has a nice little interface.

I’m also into robotics and hardware — mostly because making real-world objects listen to your code is still kind of magic. Occasionally the magic is smoke, but that’s part of the learning process.

Things I genuinely love

My usual
rabbit holes.

01 / CODE

Python & C++

From neat little scripts to competitive-programming brain teasers. I enjoy making computers do the boring bits — politely, of course.

02 / MUSIC

Piano & Ed Sheeran

Classically trained pianist, enthusiastic music mixer, and unapologetic Sheeranism devotee. Yes, the playlist probably has one more song.

03 / MAKING

Robotics & hardware

I love messing with the physical side of technology: building, modding, optimising, and seeing whether the plan survives contact with reality.

04 / SPACE

ED & Star Citizen

When I’m not at a keyboard, I’m often at a different keyboard, flying around Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen. Space is big. My backlog is bigger.

The short version

Curious by default.

I’m always happy to trade ideas, music recommendations, or the occasional hot take about which spaceship has the best cockpit.
